Conference OverviewThe 2009 national conference of Palatines to America will be held June 18-20 at the Allen Co. (IN) Public Library in Ft Wayne,. For the first time the national conference will be held in a library setting with lectures from the library staff as well as our own experts in the field of Palatine research. Pal Am, working with the Allen Co. (IN) Public Library genealogy section, will use the library facility for lectures. Their staff will provide several lectures on general genealogy research as well as specific German research. Pal Am will bring in our Annette Burgert, Jim Feit, and Robert Rau to talk about Palatine and current day research in Germany. .
The Allen Co (IN) Public Library is a world class library. It is second in size only to the LDS Library in Salt Lake City. In genealogy circles it is commonly referred to as ‘the Ft. Wayne Library”. Personal research time has been built into the program. Experienced researchers, such as Ernie Thode, Ken Smith, Kenny Burck and Bob Rau will be available for consultation.
The Conference begins after lunch on Thursday, June 18, with lectures and research time all day on Friday, June 19, and Saturday, June 20 in Ft. Wayne, IN.
Lodging and social activities will be at the Ft. Wayne Inn - Clarion.
